Assessment - NZQA Standards National standards are an important measure of a learner's progress against clearly described parameters. The task of the assessor is to find out whether the standard has been achieved by requiring the learner to perform or show understanding of the knowledge required. This leaves a lot to chance, no matter how skilled the assessor is. When the theory parts of a standard are assessed through computer-based assessment you can be sure that every trainee or learner is being asked to perform an identical task or answer an identical question. There can be no unconscious assessor bias. Our roleAlthough not an accredited provider, we have worked alongside accredited training providers to develop training modules that meet NZQA and AQTF standards. As many NZQA and AQTF standards often have a practical element to them, those aspects of the standard are left to the business's buddy-training or formal training system, and are assessed by an accredited trainer organised by the client organisation. We can also produce all documentation in template form, as required by NZQA and AQTF standards, but training content must be moderated through the client business or organisation.
